What is polyurea grease?

Polyurea grease is a high-performance grease with many excellent properties and is widely used in many fields. It is usually made by reacting a certain diisocyanate with an amine to generate a urea compound, mainly tetraurea, as a thickener, thickening the base oil, and adding antioxidant, anti-wear and other additives.

The main merits of Polyurea grease are as followings:

Excellent extreme pressure and anti-wear properties, which can meet the lubrication requirements under high load conditions.

High dropping point and good heat resistance and oxidation resistance 

Good water resistance: no emulsification and no loss in water.

The outstanding performance has also been demonstrated in relevant tests. For example, in the ASTM D 3336 grease life test, the average life of the grease is more than 450 hours, which is 3-5 times higher than that of competitive multi-purpose lithium-based greases. In the ASTM D 3527 high-temperature bearing test, high-quality lithium synthetic greases are usually out of effect after 150 hours, while it successfully operated for 794 hours. Polyurea grease is suitable for a variety of occasions, such as motor bearings, fan fin bearings, high-temperature pumps, etc. It is also commonly used for lubrication of gears, pulleys, guide rails, chains, bearing transmissions and other equipment under high-temperature and high-speed conditions. Polyurea greases of different brands and models may vary in specific performance and applicable scope. In the real situation, it is necessary to select the appropriate product according to the requirements and working conditions of the equipment.
