    1. Different production materials:

    (1) Calcium-based grease is made from a medium-viscosity mineral lubricating oil thickened with natural fatty acid calcium soap, while synthetic calcium-based grease is made from a medium-viscosity mineral lubricating oil thickened with a synthetic fatty acid calcium soap.

    (2) Lithium-based grease is made from natural fatty acid (stearic acid or 12-hydroxystearic acid) lithium soap, thickened medium-viscosity mineral lubricating oil or synthetic lubricating oil, while synthetic lithium-based grease is made from synthetic Fatty acid lithium soap, made from thickened medium viscosity mineral lubricating oil.

    2. Different characteristics:

    (1) Calcium-based grease has good water resistance, is not easily emulsified and deteriorates when water passes through it, and can be suitable for lubrication of various mechanical parts in humid environments or in contact with water; calcium-based grease has good shear stability and thixotropic stability When it is stirred and then stopped during use, the fat can still remain on the action surface, producing a sealing effect without being thrown out.

    3. Different application scopes:

    (1) Calcium-based grease can be used to lubricate medium-speed, medium-load rolling and sliding bearings in small and medium-sized motors, water pumps, tractors, automobiles, metallurgy, and textile machinery. Calcium-based grease is mainly used in compression cups, so it is called cup grease.

    (2) Lithium-based grease is used for lubrication of bearings in aircraft, automobiles, tanks, machine tools and various mechanical equipment; for lubrication of rolling bearings and sliding bearings and other friction parts of various mechanical equipment within the operating temperature range of -20~120C.

    Composition of lithium grease:

    (1) Base oil. Base oil is the dispersion medium in the grease dispersion system, which has a great influence on the performance of the grease.

    (2) Thickener. Thickener is an important component of grease. The thickener is dispersed in the base oil and forms the structural skeleton of the grease, allowing the base oil to be adsorbed and fixed in the structural skeleton. The water resistance and heat resistance of grease are mainly determined by the thickener.

    (3) Additives. One type of additive is unique to grease, called peptizers, which make the combination of oil and soap more stable, such as glycerol and water.

    Calcium-based grease has good water resistance, poor heat resistance, short service life, and a maximum operating temperature range of -10-60°C. It is suitable for automobile wheel hub bearings, chassis tie rod ball joints, water pump bearings, distributor cams, etc.

    Lithium-based grease has good water resistance, mechanical stability, rust prevention and oxidation stability. It is suitable for the lubrication of rolling and sliding bearings and other friction parts of various mechanical equipment in a wide temperature range of -20-120℃.
