Ways to Extend the Life of Grease
- Control the working environment temperature
For high temperature environments, you can use high temperature resistant grease, and consider installing a heat sink to reduce the equipment temperature and reduce the evaporation and oxidation of grease due to high temperature. For example, for transmission parts near high temperature kiln equipment, use special high temperature grease, and equip with air cooling or water cooling devices to assist in cooling.
In low temperature environments, choose grease with good low temperature performance, and preheat the equipment appropriately to ensure that the grease can flow normally and reach the lubrication position.
- Optimize mechanical working conditions
Choose grease of appropriate consistency according to the load and speed of the equipment. High-load equipment uses grease with higher viscosity to prevent it from being squeezed out; high-speed equipment requires grease with good adhesion and is not easy to be thrown out. For example, use thicker grease in the chassis of a heavy-loaded and low-speed bulldozer, and use grease with strong adhesion at the bearing of a high-speed and light-loaded motor.
- Prevent pollution
Install good sealing devices for the equipment, such as sealing gaskets, oil seals, etc., to prevent dust, moisture and corrosive gases from entering the lubrication parts.
Regularly clean impurities from the lubrication system and equipment surface to prevent impurities from mixing into the grease. For example, in a dusty mining environment, regularly clean the dust from the equipment and pay special attention to the grease filling port and other parts.
