How much grease should be added to the machine
The type of equipment is a key factor. For example, small precision instrument bearings may only need a small amount of grease, generally filling 1/3 - 1/2 of the bearing space. Because these equipment run at high speeds and require high precision, too much grease can easily generate high heat and resistance, affecting the accuracy of the equipment.
For large, heavy-loaded industrial equipment bearings, such as large bearings in mining machinery, the filling amount may reach about 2/3 of the bearing space. This is because they are subject to huge pressure and friction, and require sufficient grease to ensure good lubrication and protection.
The speed of the equipment is also important. For equipment with high speed, the amount of grease added is relatively small. Because when running at high speed, too much grease will heat up due to stirring, reducing the lubrication effect. Generally, for motor bearings with higher speeds, it is more appropriate to fill about 1/3 of the bearing space.
The working environment will also affect the amount of grease added. In harsh environments, such as those with a lot of dust, impurities, or risks of chemical corrosion, appropriately increasing the dosage of grease can better prevent impurities from entering the bearing and provide better sealing and protection. However, it should not be too much, generally 10% - 20% more than the filling amount in normal environments.
