What is the difference on the function between different grease
Grease can be divided into many types according to different ingredients such as base oil and thickener, and their functions have their own characteristics.
Lithium-based grease
- It has good water resistance and high and low temperature performance. It can maintain a stable lubrication effect in a wide temperature range (-20℃ - 120℃), so it is widely used in automobile wheel hub bearings, water pump bearings and other parts. Even in a humid environment or when the temperature changes greatly, it can effectively lubricate and prevent parts from rusting.
Calcium-based grease
- It has good water resistance, but its temperature resistance is poor, and the general working temperature is around 60℃. It is relatively cheap and is often used for lubrication of mechanical parts that work in a humid environment but at a low temperature, such as some agricultural machinery, water pumps, etc.
Composite lithium-based grease
- It has better extreme pressure and anti-wear performance and high temperature performance than lithium-based grease, and the working temperature range can reach -20℃ - 180℃. It is suitable for heavy-load and high-temperature working environments, such as high-temperature roller bearings in steel mills, and can effectively reduce wear under high loads and high temperatures.
Polyurea grease
- It has excellent oxidation stability and water resistance, good high temperature resistance, and can work at temperatures ranging from -20℃ to 180℃. This grease has a long service life and is often used in precision machinery with high requirements for grease life and harsh working environments, such as high-speed motor bearings.
