Kunlun achieves new breakthrough in R&D of high-end compressor oil and wire rope grease

On May 19, relying on the integrated advantages of Kunlun Lubricating "production-research-sales-use", Daqing Branch of Kunlun Lubricating Oil Company successfully promoted Kunlun's high-end product, KCRL screw air compressor oil, for the first successful experimental application in Daqing Oilfield.
The compressor unit is the "power heart" of oilfield production. These equipment have long relied on imported lubricants and faced problems such as short oil change cycle, long procurement chain and high maintenance cost. At the beginning of this year, Daqing Branch of Kunlun Lubricating Oil Company keenly captured the opportunity of adjusting the procurement model of compressor oil in Daqing Oilfield. In cooperation with Dalian R&D Center, a special team composed of marketing and technical support was established to analyze customer needs and provide a long-term lubrication solution that can achieve the expected 8,000 hours, which has been recognized by customers.
The Kunlun KCRL screw air compressor oil used this time is formulated with fully synthetic base oil and selected high-quality additives. It can meet the lubrication requirements of various types of screw air compressors and provide good protection for the equipment, breaking through the performance barriers of imported brands from a technical level.
In addition, new breakthroughs were made in grease in early May. The Kunlun Rope KL-1 wide temperature range wire rope grease developed by the grease research team of Kunlun Lubrication Lanzhou R&D Center was successfully applied to wire ropes with specifications below 32 mm produced by Xianyang Baoshi Steel Pipe and Wire Rope Co., Ltd. This achievement marks that my country has achieved a double breakthrough in technological innovation and market application in the field of wire rope lubrication.
At present, the annual consumption of wire rope grease in my country is about more than 4,000 tons. Due to the relatively backward existing evaluation system of wire rope grease, its performance mainly depends on the effect verification of manufacturers and end users in actual working conditions, resulting in slow development and promotion of high-end wire rope grease in China. Especially in high-cold working scenes such as northern ports, high-performance wire rope grease has long relied on imports.
Starting from 2021, the wire rope grease research team of the Lanzhou R&D Center of the lubricant company started with the application conditions of wire ropes in northern ports and conducted research. Through systematic benchmarking of imported products, performance comparison, working condition matching, formula finalization, production process stability inspection and application test tracking, the team has gone through four years of hard work and effectively improved the adhesion between lubricants and wire rope surfaces, solved the low friction coefficient of wire rope lubrication at low temperatures and the rust prevention problem under harsh working conditions, and successfully developed Kunlun Rope KL-1 wide temperature range high-end wire rope grease. This product has achieved a breakthrough in technology from scratch and filled the gap in domestic lubricating materials for wire rope grease in northern ports.
