Grease has always been known as the "excavator companion" in the excavator circle. As an important lubricant and sealant necessary for the normal operation of the excavator, if the butter is insufficient, it will cause the movement to slow down at the least, and in severe cases, it will cause huge wear or damage to the mechanical parts. Excavators that cost millions of dollars really can't afford such serious consequences!
Here, I will introduce several common cleaning methods
Butter cleaning method
Method 1: Add detergent to hot water at about 50 degrees and wipe the butter overflowing from the working device with cotton cloth.
Method 2: At present, there is a heavy oil cleaning agent with alkaline pH. It is also diluted with hot water at about 50 degrees in a ratio of about 1:3, and then wiped with cotton cloth, which can easily remove the butter. It is not recommended to use diesel or acidic substances for cleaning for a long time, which will corrode the surface paint.
The difference between butter No. 1, 2, and 3
Butter is divided into 1#, 2#, and 3#, with different grades and different viscosities (commonly known as different hardness and softness). The larger the number, the greater the viscosity.
Parts for grease filling
Working device: 16 parts
Grease nipple for rotating bearing: 1 part
Grease nipple for adjusting spring of guide wheel: 2 parts
Grease groove for rotating: 1 part
The more grease, the better?
Be careful not to apply too much grease each time, otherwise it will damage the oil seal and cause oil leakage, causing unnecessary failures. There are tricks and experience in the filling amount, filling time and cycle. The wrong way of applying grease may cause the excavator to suffer an unexpected disaster.
How often do you need to apply grease?
In order to make the excavator work better, the maintenance time of each part is marked in the instruction manual of each excavator, and the grease is generally added every 5-8 hours during working time, which means that the grease needs to be added at least once every day.
There are also places where grease needs to be applied!
In fact, there are many places where grease needs to be added, and some places may not be known by experienced drivers!
Operation pilot valve
The semi-spherical head of the operation pilot valve column needs to be checked every 1000 hours and grease needs to be added. As shown in the figure above, remove the pilot handle cover and apply a small amount of butter to the pilot valve column (1) and the top of the rotating sliding part (2).
Generator
Apply butter to the AC generator fan belt. If the belt slips, the belt life will be shortened.
Fan tensioner bearing
Remove the tensioner shaft, use a sharp object to pick up the bearing to clean out impurities, and apply new butter.
Battery terminal
Clean the battery terminal and apply butter or rust-proof lubricant to prevent corrosion and avoid reduced conductivity.
Rotary motor reducer bearing
The filling of the grease fitting (1) is the most easily overlooked and needs to be filled every 500 hours of operation. Stop filling when the butter overflows from the butter overflow valve (2).
Rotary butter groove
If there is a lack of butter on the tooth surface of the large gear ring, use a strip tool such as a bamboo stick or a wooden stick to apply butter to each tooth one by one. When a large amount of water is found in the butter groove through the butter window, it is necessary to loosen the bolts and spring pads under the lower frame, remove the cover plate and sealing pad, and drain the water.
Water pump bearings
The water pump bearings of SK130 and SK140 excavators are lubricated with grease, so they need to be refilled every 500 hours.
Grease the excavator is very important and is an important guarantee for the service life and normal operation of the excavator. Whether it is daily grease or regular maintenance, everyone should take it seriously.
