Total Energy expands API SQ and ILSAC GF-7 engine oils

Total Energy Marketing (Asia Pacific Middle East) announces the launch of its latest range of engine oils certified to the new API SQ and ILSAC GF-7 standards. These advanced lubricants improve fuel efficiency, enhance engine protection and extend vehicle life to meet the growing demands of modern automotive technology.
The new product line includes Quartz 9000 Future FGC 5W-30, Quartz 9000 Future GF-7 0W-20/5W-30 and Quartz 7000 Future GF-75W-30. Designed for turbocharged and gasoline direct injection (GDI) engines, these lubricants are compatible with older vehicles, providing versatility for drivers and service providers. Total Energy says the new formula provides 40% better low-speed pre-ignition (LSPI) protection, 20% improved chain wear protection, and 7% enhanced piston cleanliness compared to industry standards. These advances help reduce maintenance costs and extend engine life.
In terms of fuel economy, the new lubricants are up to 11% more efficient compared to the SAE XW-30 benchmark and 16% more efficient compared to SAE XW-20. In addition, they support stricter emission standards by minimizing carbon deposits and reducing harmful emissions.

These new products are being produced at five Total Energy blending plants in Asia Pacific and the Middle East, including its largest plant in Singapore. The first launches in the Chinese and Korean markets will begin in April 2025, with further expansion planned in more than 40 countries this year.
